I Am A Storyteller.

ABOUT ME

I've spent my career in the spaces where culture actually lives: LGBTQ+ film festivals, breaking news desks, entertainment newsrooms, and the comment sections of posts that stopped traffic. The through line has always been the same — finding the right way to bring a story to the right audience and making it land.

I'm an Eritrean-American Audience Growth and Social Video Strategist based in Los Angeles, with deep expertise in entertainment and a career built on building genuine trust with communities, at real scale.

My career started at NewFest, New York's LGBTQ+ film festival, and took a sharp turn in 2016 when I joined the founding team of NBC Out, NBC News' LGBTQ+ vertical, building its social presence from the ground up. That work taught me what it actually means to serve a community, not just reach one.

From there I spent nearly a decade at Entertainment Weekly, growing into the role of Social Media Director. In 2025 I led EW's most successful awards season on record, with 484% year-over-year growth in video views, and grew Instagram and TikTok video views 128% between 2024 and 2025.

In addition to Entertainment Weekly, my byline appears at NBC Out, NBC BLK, NBC Latino, and Inverse. These days you can find my writing at The Binge Agenda, my newsletter about television for people who want to watch smarter, queerer, and with just the right amount of thirst.

Alongside my media career, I've programmed LGBTQ+ film festivals, evaluated grants, produced events, and worked with arts organizations as a strategist and collaborator, because the community work and the professional work have never felt separate to me.

If you're trying to reach a community, really reach them, not just post in their direction, I'd love to talk.
